Explosion Proof (EX) aerial lifts, forklifts, reach trucks and other EX rated equipment are used in handling drums, bins or pallets of combustible powders or liquids, which may cause an explosion if damaged or leaking. Dust and powders often form a cloud or layer that is potentially explosive.

Aerial lifts, forklifts and reach trucks are also used for storing raw or bulk materials in potentially explosive areas.

Forklifts are used for the handling of materials and bottles in any location where flammable gases, vapors, or liquids could be ignited.
